 Greetings,
I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you in advance for your participation in the Newport Hockey’s Christmas Tournament for 2010. We are proud of our tournament and we hope that you all have a wonderful time visiting Newport.
Newport Youth Hockey has two very important partners in the Portsmouth Abbey School and St. Georges School. These two institutions continue to support Youth Hockey and this tournament. We can not thank them enough for this support. Please respect the rink management, staff and volunteers. We are guests at these rinks and, as such, we need to be sure and be good to our hosts.
Teams should be aware of the strict enforcement regarding the “Standard of Play” as defined by USA hockey. All of the officials have been instructed by NCYHA and RIAHA to meet the requirements. Please communicate this to ALL of the players, parents and coaches. It would be unfortunate for a team to be without a coach for having too many penalties or having a “feverish discussion” with an official either on or off the ice.
Lastly, we all recognize this is youth hockey and we are all here to support our teams, our players and or organizations. There is no place for any signs or language that discourage, criticize or contains a derogatory or foul statement or language. This is a game for kids. Let’s keep it that way.
